FIELD TRIPS TO THE REACH

A visit to The REACH brings the history and science of the Mid-Columbia Region to life for students!

The REACH exhibits the unique landscape and history of the Columbia Basin. The curriculum developed by REACH Educators follows these themes and aligns with current school standards. Teachers have the option of a guided or self-guided trip for their K through 12th grade school group.

GUIDED Field Trips

Guided Field Trips to the REACH include an educator-led tour and activities appropriate for the age of the students.  Because there are so many stories at our museum, we will narrow it down to one of the following four topics – plan on 90 minutes to 2 hours:

  • Columbia River Resources
  • Hanford Legacy
  • Shrub-steppe Ecosystem
  • Geologic Past

Pricing for Guided Field Trips:

K-12 guided field trips are $150 per group of 12 up to 30 students.

Pre-K guided field trips are $85 per group of 12 up to 30 students – for more information on Pre-K Field Trips click HERE.

Teachers and adult chaperones receive free admission, and we ask that for every 7 students, there is one assigned adult chaperone.

SELF-GUIDED Field Trips

If you would prefer to conduct a self-guided field trip to The REACH, schools and/or camp groups are welcomed to explore the museum exhibits and grounds.  We have a Scavenger Hunt worksheets available to help students engage with our exhibits. Plan for at an least an hour for the visit.

Pricing for Self-Guided Field Trips:

K-12 guided field trips are $5 per student.

Teachers and adult chaperones receive free admission, and we ask that for every 7 students, there is one assigned adult chaperone.

Contact the Education Department at least TWO weeks prior to scheduling your program, as there are limited times available.  Dates fill up quickly in the spring, so plan ahead!
